A little glockenspiel, for awakening the senses, a call to transition, some calm or focus....

Auris Glockenspiels are very finely tuned and have a clear, pure overtone.  With their crystal clear and spherical tones they create a particularly lovely sound experience.

The tone bars consist of a brass alloy coated with beeswax to enhance and preserve their soft, natural shine.  The resonating body is made of varnished maple, and is polished with beeswax.

Pentatonic - rounded - 7 tone.  Maple wood, 7 brass plates, comes with 2 mallets (1 soft rubber and 1 wooden mallet)

With the tones d''' - e''' - g''' - a''' - b''' - d''' - e'''.  ('H' on the scales being the German note for 'b'.  Hence, one can notice that the notes are in order, but skipping the 'f' and 'c' notes.  It is thus a pentatonic scale.

AURIS Pentatonic pure-fifths tuned 432 Hz
The pentatonic tuning is a basic musical phenomena. It consists of large second- and small third-interval steps. This scale enables the mixing of tones in any thinkable combination – yet it always plays heavenly, harmonic melodies. Pentatonic music is one of the most powerful tools to guide a child into the world of music.

In order to obtain an even warmer and more sonorous scale, this AURIS-Glockenspiel was tuned into a pure fifth-interval system. Adjusted to the pitch 432 Hz which is used by ear physicians and also recommended by the founder of the Waldorf school system, Rudolf Steiner, while harmonised with the biological function of the ear. The player will relax and build up inner energy.

The lower 432 Hz tuning is specially adapted to the function of the human ear, recommended by Rudolf Steiner and tuned according to the mathematical rules revealed by Pythagoras.  Free from the internal interference inherent in regularly tuned instruments, this tuning is very suitable for early childhood, therapeutic purposes, and relaxation.  The bars on this glockenspiel have no markings on them.

The 440 Hz tuning is also a pentatonic scale, but the tone names are marked with letters on the tones.

Made with great care in Sweden.
