Peter and Lotta go to live in the country with Aunt Green, Aunt Brown, Aunt Lavender and Uncle Blue. As Christmas approaches, they discover all kinds of new surprises, but best of all is finding where the presents come from. Is it from deep in the forest where the tallest fir trees grow?
Elsa Beskow (1874-1953) is the most popular children's illustrator in Sweden, where her picture books have been known and loved for over a century.

Reviews
'A beautifully illustrated book with plenty of text. Peter and Lotta prepare for Christmas in Victorian Sweden in the days before Father Christmas, when the Christmas Goat brought gifts. It's full of adventures. A great Christmas read for 4-8 year olds.'

'Evidence from my family and its visitors confirms that Elsa Beskow's Peter and Lotta stories somehow capture the imagination. The illustrations in these lovely hardback editions have something of the charm that Carl Larson's watercolours have. For children I suspect these books have the old-fashioned feel and colour that a good Nordic "heimat" film does for me as an adult. Children love them.'
