Wind vanes may seem basic, but they are still our primary means of capturing information about the weather. To know which direction the wind is blowing, this simple tool is still used in scientific measurements (albeit with some electronics to record the information). How fast the wind blows can also be communicated here by the fluttering tail. DIY kits empower children in their ability to construct and work on projects. This wind vane kit will hopefully also lend a feeling of connectivity to and a nice visual of the light breezes and gusty gales. It also makes for a lovely lawn ornament!
